Sexual Assault
Sexual Assault
Recent studies show that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys are sexually abused before they reach the age of 18 years, and that in homes where domestic violence is present, 50% of children living in those homes are abused physically and/or emotionally.
Welcome to our Sexual Assault Program, a department committed to serving members of San Joaquin County who are either victims of sexual violence or seeking information about sexual assault and prevention.
We offer a wide range of services to community members affected directly by sexual abuse and to those close to them, including crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, advocacy, accompaniment, and referral services. We also offer a variety of educational and training programs about personal safety and prevention.
What is a Rape Crisis Center?
An individual community based organization that is a member of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (Cal*CASA) and funded through the Office of Emergency Services, Department of Health Services, County Office of Education, and/or a variety of city and county grants. The Center is staffed by certified sexual assault crisis counselors and volunteers and held to criteria and standards of operation as set forth by the Office of Emergency Services.
